Amazon is up to their old bullying tactics, recently butting heads with Chicago based book distributor IPG. Amazon insisted on new e-book terms that would reduce the “already narrow margins” for the independent publisher. As a result of IPG’s conviction not to budge, Amazon has removed 5,000 IPG titles from it’s Kindle archive.
IPG is the second largest distributor of independent books and carries roughly 50,000 titles. Unfamiliar with IPG and their excellent titles? Check them out here.
Also, this is not the first time Amazon has strong armed publishers.
